You can’t beat a day out at the park.

You can’t beat a day out at the park.
A young boy in blue clothing and a girl in a pink dress stand by a lake, feeding ducks. The lake has several ducks swimming, with green trees and a clear blue sky in the background. The ground is dry and sandy near the water’s edge.
On days like today when the sun is shining and the kids are asking “What can we do today?” There’s only really one answer – Lets go to the park! We’re really lucky that we live not far away from a wonderful park called Kingsbury Water Park, it’s full of fun things for all the family to do. There’s a huge lake with boats and ducks to feed, there’s a wonderful park with all sorts of equipment to play on and best of all there’s lots of grass to run around on and be free.

A woman and two young children sit together on a playground swing set. The boy in front holds the swing's chains and stands on the swing, while the girl sits behind him. The woman stands at the back, smiling, with a sunny park and play area in the background.

It costs £3.50 to park the car but it’s well worth every penny as the money is used to keep the park clean and well run. It’s full of weird and wacky swings and climbing frames. Even Daddy gets to join in on some of them like he did on this giant rope swing. The kids always have a great time when we go there. The only thing they don’t like is having to leave and go home.

A small yellow and red speedboat with a large orange buoy creates a white spray as it speeds across a river surrounded by green trees. In the foreground, several ducks and geese float and stand near the water’s edge on a sunny day.

We were extra lucky today as there was lots of speed boat races going on, on the lake. We got to watch them as they sped around so fast, it looked like great fun. Ryan and Daddy were really pleased, they both love boats and ones that go this fast are even better. We sat on the side of the lake and watched them whizz around for a good half an hour, what a wonderful way to enjoy our Saturday afternoon. Who knew a simple visit to the park could be so much fun.

A young boy with short blonde hair is holding a purple ice cream tub, his mouth and lips smeared with red ice cream. He looks thoughtful or slightly pensive. Sunlight and outdoor plants are visible, with a brick wall in the background.

Every outing has to end with an ice lolly of course, I just adore this picture of Ryan with his. I think he actually wore than he ate, bless him. We’ve had a such lovely day and for just £3.50 too. Who needs expensive indoor play areas or fancy days out, not us! As long as the sun stays around for awhile, I’m sure we’ll be enjoying many more days like this real soon.

What did you and your family get up to today?

Your park seems to have a lot more to offer than ours – I'd love a lake to walk around! We're lucky if the cafe is occupied, it's without management more often than not 🙁 x

  2. Lovely and great pictures, our park is fab too x
