Meet The Dreams – Effie, Lorrell and Deena – three talented young singers in the turbulent 1960s, a revolutionary time in American music history. Join the three friends as they embark on a musical rollercoaster ride through a world of fame, fortune, and the ruthless realities of show business, testing their friendships and relationships to the very limit.
This beautiful story of love and sisterhood is sure to warm your heart.
Direct from the West End with it’s extraordinary story and unforgettable, spine tingling vocals, this spectacular musical production features the classic songs “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going”, “Listen” and “One Night Only”. Every note is filled with pure emotion and heart.

From start to finish, you’ll be singing along and having a wonderful time. I loved the dazzling dresses and wonderful showtime costumes; it was a real treat for my eyes. The whole cast is amazing, but a special mention has to go out to the incredible Nicole Dennis, who plays the iconic role of Effie White. Her credits include Dear Evan Hansen, Dreamgirls (West End production), and finalist on ITV’s The Voice in 2019 where she wowed viewers and judges singing And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going with team mentor Jennifer Hudson. When she closed the first act singing “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” the whole room was up on their feet, clapping her. It was so emotional and just so wonderful to witness last night.

Dreamgirls is live at the Alexandra, Birmingham, this Christmas from Tuesday, December 6th, right up until Saturday, December 31st, 2022, so there’s plenty of time to go and see it. Tickets are available from £13.00. The show runs for a total of 2 hours and 40 minutes, including the interval.
Dreamgirls is the perfect Christmas treat for all the family to enjoy.
Disclosure: I attended the press night showing, but all opinions expressed are my own.
