Spotting The Signs Of A Heart Attack With The Four Ps.
This January, St John Ambulance want everybody to make a New Year’s resolution they can keep by learning how to save a life.
By simply watching and sharing a six-second Vine people can learn to spot the four signs of a heart attack known as the Four Ps:
Pain (in the chest)
Pale skin
Pulse (rapid and weak)
Perspiration (or profuse sweating)
Knowing the symptoms will ensure more people can give the appropriate treatment: sit the patient down with knees bent, call 999, and offer them 300mg of aspirin to chew. Given that 92,000 people in the UK suffer heart attacks each year, and a third of those die as a result, this quick and easy resolution can make all the difference.
