Sky got together with British Cycling four years ago to inspire the nation to become fans of cycling, and to make it easier than ever before to ride for the sheer fun of it. Together, they created Sky Ride to help people – whatever their age or ability – to get on their bikes and have fun. They offer free bike rides across the country from mass-participation events to weekly local rides.  Visit The Website to watch a video of one of last year’s rides and find out more info on how to join in.

The Birmingham Sky Ride is taking place this summer on Sunday August 19th. I’m heading along to join in the fun with my Dad and eldest daughter Chloe, I’d love it if you could join us too. It’s really easy and completely free to join in, Just register at Sky Ride Birmingham and come along with your bike for a fun filled day out. There are bikes available to hire on the day if you need them so there’s really no excuse to miss out.

A colourful map for Birmingham’s Sky Ride 2012 shows a highlighted cycling route through the city, starting at St. George’s Church and passing landmarks like the University of Birmingham and Botanical Gardens. Key areas are marked with icons and event details.
