Weekend Washing –

I’m a Weekend Washer – I hold my hands up and admit it right now! I have friends who do washing every day or as and when they need to but not me, I am a Weekend Washer.
Weekdays are always busy here with school runs, homework and after school activities. Plus I’m ‘that’ parent who would rather buy more uniform items so there’s enough for one each day to save me having to wash them. Saying that out loud makes me sound lazy.
But I’m not, I just like to do all my washing on the weekend when I have more time.
I’d don’t like doing the washing but I don’t hate it either, it’s just ‘something’ I have to do. With three children, two of which have really sensitive skin so I have to use a Non Bio power or liquid. It often means we have to compromise on great smelling laundry for safe to wear laundry instead. This week I’ve been using a new laundry detergent Ecover Non Bio.

The dermatologically tested, plant-based Non-Bio formula delivers spotlessly clean results, even on a cold wash. It sounds great so I happy to give it a go this week as I tend to use the Quick Wash cycle which is only a 30 degree wash. I’m not lazy, honest. I’m just a busy Mum trying to save as much time as I can.
Britmums wanted to know my Washing Routine? So this is how my weekly washing goes:
Week days whiz by in a whirl, there’s always so much to do.
So when the Weekend arrives, I have the washing baskets to go through.
Sorting and Matching, Three loads to do – Colours, Whites and Darks.
Each on a Quick Wash and then off to play in the Parks.
There’s 28 Minutes to have some fun, before the next lot of washing is begun.
Whilst one load is washing, one load is drying and one is left waiting, almost crying.
Done in a rush, always hurried and quick, a Non Bio liquid – equals a great big Tick.
A busy Mummy has lots to do, with three dirty loads of laundry to get through.
My routine is to: sort, wash and tumble dry. Fold and put away – then let out a sigh.
It’s all quick and easy, no fuss, mess or worry. Washing on a Weekend done in a hurry.
I do it all, but there’s not that much to do. It doesn’t take up my whole Weekend through.
It’s an easy chore which I don’t exactly adore but I do, it, as that’s what Mums are for.
So this week I swapped my normal non bio liquid tablets for the Ecover detergent liquid and have to say it was really nice. It smelt natural but pretty and washed my clothes to a high standard. Everything came out nice and clean and smelt great which was a nice change.
One cap full for a normal load or one and a half for a full load which what I used as I do tend to fill my washing machine up to it’s capacity. I liked Ecover and would use it again. Would I swap from what I use right now? Maybe, I’m a savvy shopper so I guess I’d pick up what’s the cheaper of the two or what’s on offer at the time I bought it. That’s a good sign though as I would happily buy it and use it again. It worked well and the kids clothes came out clean.
